COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Junior Hornets split a pair of Ohio Valley Conference Middle School football games in their last two outings.

The Junior Hornets went on the road to beat the River Valley Raiders 33-6 on Sept. 24 only to fall 24-0 to Chesapeake on last Thursday.

Against River Valley, the Hornets’ defense forced five turnovers and held the Raiders scoreless until the final play of the game.

Coal Grove visits Fairland in a league game on Thursday.
