CHESAPEAKE — The beginning and end were good, but the middle was missing for the Chesapeake Lady Panthers.
The South Point Lady Pointers shook off a first set loss and battled past the Lady Panthers in four sets to win the Ohio Valley Conference volleyball match Thursday, 22-25, 25-12, 25-11 and 25-19.
“Courtney Heffner and Ashley Jenkins played well for us,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Dana Edwards. “We played well in the first and fourth sets. I was proud of how hard our girls played.
“South Point has a good team. They serve well and Tinesha Taylor gave us fits. She did a great job.”
In the reserve game, Chesapeake won 11-25, 25-18 and 27-25 as Beth McWhorter had 11 kills and 3 aces.
