GALLIPOLIS — Size does matter when it comes to volleyball.
The St. Joseph Female Flyers were unable to overcome the overall front line size of the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders as they fell in five sets last Thursday, 26-24, 25-22, 25-22 and 25-18, before a capacity crowd.
“It was hard to play against a tall team that average 6-foot-3,” said Female Flyers’ coach Andrea Rudmann.
“Katie (Hacker) and Michelle (Staton) played hard, but (OVC) had too many weapons.”
Staton had 14 kills and 4 digs while Hacker had 12 kills and 5 blocks to lead the Female Flyers. Sara Burcham had 13 setting assists.
St. Joseph visits New Boston Monday.
