FLOYD CASE, JR.

SOUTH POINT — Floyd Case, Jr., 86, of South Point, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Ironton native was born Sept. 17, 1922, the son of the late Floyd Case, Sr., and Pearl Diamond Case.
Mr. Case attended Ironton City Schools and was a U.S. Army WWII veteran. He was a former maintenance worker with Ashland Oil and a member of the South Point Masonic Lodge F&AM. He loved bluegrass music and spent many weekends camping at bluegrass festivals.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, John Case and Richard Case; a sister, Catherine Case; and a special friend, Mabel Puckett.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bob Vaughn of Ironton.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday in Woodland Cemetery with Minister Debbie Hixon officiating. There will be no public visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
