HAROLD FISHER

Harold Andrew “Screech” Fisher, 98, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at the Best Care Nursing Home in Wheelersburg. The Ironton native was born Jan. 9, 1911, the son of the late Jacob and Mary Mae Wymer Fisher. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Alma “Sally” Leach Fisher of Ironton.
 Mr. Fisher attended Ironton High School, was employed in the welding and carpentry business for years and repaired airplanes at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for seven years during WWII. He was also a former member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church, the 32-degree Masons, Methodist Men, Malleable Chorus and the Sunday School Superintendent.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Carl and Edith Fisher, George Fisher, and Frank Fisher; and a sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Robert Gerstman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John “Jack” Fisher of Ironton; a daughter and son-in-law, Sally Jo Fisher Billiar and  her husband, Jim of Columbus; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry Fisher and his wife, Katie of West Liberty; seven grandchildren, Michael and Julie Billiar, Kathryn and Don Allemano, Kimberly and Abdellah Ksiri, Johnda and Carlos King, Brett and Misty Fisher, Amy and Kyle McGlone, and Lauren and Ash Watkins; great grandchildren, Katie Billiar and Sarah Billiar, Brendan  Allemano Nicholas Allemano, Jessica Lashley, Devon Bailey, Zakariya Ksiri, Kaitlyn Strickland, Carlee King, Kobe King, Jacob Fisher and Ethan McGlone; two great great grandchildren, Laila Lashley and Kristopher Lashley; two sisters, Emma Mae Fisher Markle and Ruth Fisher Morgan both of Ironton; a sister-in-law, Pauline Fisher of Columbus; and a brother-in-law, Dr. Joseph Leach and his wife, Sara of Columbus.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, with Pastor Todd Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
