WILLOW WOOD — James Franklin Mannon, 82, of Willow Wood, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at his home. The Lawrence County native was born March 9, 1927, the son of the late Pearl and Gusta Massie Mannon. He is survived by his wife, Rosaleen “Rose” Stumbo Mannon, whom he married June 8, 1953.
Mr. Mannon attended Waterloo High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a former employee for Allied Chemical for more than 40 years. He attended Palestine United Baptist Church in Scottown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, James F. Jr. and Charlene Mannon of Willow Wood; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leon Mannon of Patriot, Earl Mannon of Willow Wood and Pearlie Mannon of Scottown; and a sister, Elinor Tag of Dayton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Turley officiating. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
