Evelyn D. Wilson, 83, of Ironton, passed away, Friday, May 22, 2009, at a local health care center. The Ironton native will born Jan. 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Wayne and Hazel Patrick Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Shelton Wilson, whom she married Feb. 21, 1941.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a member of the Ironton City Mission Church. She was born and raised and spent all her life in Lawrence County.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Thompson; and a sister, Betty Justice.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Eugene and Trilba Ellen Wilson of Paintsville, Ky.; four grandchildren, Raymond E. Wilson of Ironton, Malynda G. Fuller of South Point, Warren D. Wilson of Ironton and Audra J. Fox and her husband, Eddie, of Milton, Ky.; six great grandchildren, Marcus Alan Stamper of South Point, Mitchell Aaron Stamper of South Point, Colton E. Fox of Milton, Caleb Fox of Milton, Raymond Eugene Wilson of Georgia and Jesse Wilson of Linnville; three great-great grandchildren; four step grandchildren, Darlene Combs, Roy Daniels, Tammy Taylor and Darita Daniels, all of Paintsville; six stepgreatgrandchildren; and loved by significant others.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Cremeans and the Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery.
