Team effort gives Redwomen non-league win over Oak Hill

PEDRO — It turned out to be a win-win situation for Rock Hill.
The Redwomen were able to do a lot of things including win as they beat the Oak Hill Lady Oaks 11-1 in five innings on Tuesday.
Seven different players had hits and Jazel DeAutremont turned in a one-hit pitching performance to lead Rock Hill.
“It was a good game for us. We got to play a lot of girls and we were able to get a win,” said Redwomen coach Mary Harper.
After a scoreless first inning, Rock Hill erupted for seven runs in the second inning.
Morgan Damron and Dani Crabtree singled and Kassie Large all singled for a run. A wild pitch put runners at second and third and a wild pitch scored a run. Nicole Stamper reached on an error as another run scored.
Stamper stole second and BreeAnna Depriest walked and Chelsea Harper was safe on a fielder’s choice as a run score. Harper stole second and DeAutremont followed with a two-run double.
Megan Russell reached on an error and Damron singled for the final run.
Another runs scored in third inning when Stamper singled, Depriest walked, a wild pitch moved the runners up and Courtney Duncan hit a sacrifice fly.
Rock Hill pushed across two runs in the fourth to lead 10-0.
DeAutremont tripled, Damron was safe on an error and Jessica Crank walked to load the bases. Large hit a sacrifice fly and Stamper walked to load the bases. Depriest walked to force home a run.
After Oak Hill got a run in the top of the fifth, the Redwomen scored a run in the bottom of the inning to end the game as Harper and DeAutremont doubled and Russell singled.
DeAutremont was 3-4 and Damron 2-3 to pace the 10-hit attack.
Rock Hill (10-5) hosts Vinton County on Wednesday.
