BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – Eleanor Wyant, 81, formerly of Ironton died April 16, 2009, at Meadowview Manor nursing home in Bridgeport, W. Va.
She was born in South Point, Ohio, the daughter of the late William Vilous and Gladys Davidson Runyon. Eleanor graduated from South Point Delta High School in 1945 and worked for Guaranty National Bank in Huntington, W. Va. Later she worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, the J.B. Wyant Insurance Agency of Ironton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton, the American Association of Retired Persons and the South Point Chapter No. 404, Order of the Eastern Star. She relocated to Bridgeport, W.Va. in 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John B. Wyant, in 1993
She is survived by two children, Deborah Fitcher and husband Robert of Atlanta, Fla. and Lorie Stingo and husband, David of Bridegport, W.Va.; a sister, Mary Frances Weiler of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Andrea Fitcher of Atlanta, Ga.; and Victoria Stingo of Bridgeport, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22 in the chapel at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point with Pastor Dennis Strawn officiating. Burial will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Ironton, 304 S. Fifth St., Ironton, Ohio.
