SOUTH POINT — George Ralph Palmer, 75, of South Point, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
He was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Belmont County, a son of the late John W. and Emma B. Gorby Palmer. He was a retired employee of CSX Transportation, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, having served during the Korean War, a member of the VFW 1064, and a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America No. 455, Huntington, Lawrence Scottish Rite Club, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Chancel Chapter Consistory Valley of Cincinnati, and the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, Lodge No. 497, South Point, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, O’Della M. Hensley Harbour Palmer; stepdaughter, Lisa Harbour; and brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Charles Lane. Entombment will in Woodmere Abbey of Remembrance.
