CLIFFORD BOWMAN

Clifford A. Bowman, 95, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at a local health care facility. The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born Feb. 16, 1914, the son of the late Charles and Mary Ellen Wolfe Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Goldie Harper Bowman.
Mr. Bowman was a retired millwright after 20 years of service with Armco Steel, retiring in 1976. He was a long standing member of Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He lived most of his life in Lawrence County
He was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Charles and Elmer Bowman; sisters, Nellie Primm, Erma Currington and Elizabeth Porter; a son, James Lee Bowman, and daughters, Shelby Ann Troyer and Anita Jane Hill.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Bowman, Robert and Sandy Bowman, and Clifford and Joann Bowman; daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Dale Rudolph, Nancy and Tom Norris and Linda Bowman; granddaughters, Sandy Minsquero, Kathy Rudolph and Kelly Ann Norris as well as other numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Warren Comer officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
