Mrs. Ruth Marie Philabaun, 88 of Ironton, passed away on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Ironton, the daughter of the late Austin T. and Alice Amos Moore.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ironton, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Philabaun, Sr., who died in August 1990. Also preceding her was a grandchild, Matthew G. Philabaun and a sister, Virginia Collins.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Francis Philabaun, Jr. of Gallipolis, Douglas and Linda Philabaun of Ironton, and Michael A. Philabaun of Columbus; ten grandchildren, Christi Bartram (Norm), Julie Whaley (Josh), Stacey Philabaun, and Eddie Philabaun (Jenn) all of Ironton, Alisa Caruso of Bluffton, S.C., Jason Philabaun (Lindsay), of St. Albans, W.Va., Andrew Philabaun of Ironton, and Michael Philabaun, Jr. and John Philabaun, both of Columbus; two step grandchildren, Heather Grimm of Columbus, and Hillary Kinnison of Gallipolis; six great grandchildren, three step greatgrandchildren, and a loving niece, Sue Perkins and family of Rossford.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Strawn officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
