EDNA MERSHON

FLATWOODS, Ky. — Edna Louise Mershon, 95, formerly of Portsmouth, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. A native of Nile Township, she was born Jan. 7, 1914, to the late Shirley and Charlotee Dement Swords.
She was a member of Pond Creek Church of Christ. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Leo W. Mershon on Sept. 29, 1996; a son, Woodrow Mershon; a brother, Norman Swords; and two sisters, Geneva Spradlin and Orla Malina.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Roger (Mary) Mershon of Pataskala, and Paul David Mershon of Portmouth; a daughter, Betty Jean (John) Euton of Flatwoods; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Edna was well-loved by everybody and her hobby was quilting. She loved walking with husband, Leo.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Co. in Portsmouth with the Rev. Lloyd Baldridge officiating. Interment will be in Mershon family cemetery. Visitation will be at Daehlers from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
