A 33-year-old West Virginia woman was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for supplying the heroin that killed her ex-husband.
U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers sentenced Michelle Byars of Huntington to 87 months in prison Monday for conspiracy to distribute heroin. She pleaded guilty to the charge in September.
Byars’ ex-husband was found dead from a heroin overdose on Sept 23, 2007.
A joint investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Huntington Drug and Violent Crime Task Force traced heroin supplied by dealers in Columbus, to Byars’ ex-husband and 12 other heroin overdose victims in Huntington.
