Joyce Ann Bruce, 72, of Ironton, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born Aug. 17, 1936 in Magoffin Co. Ky., the daughter of the late Jim and Virginia England Arnett.
She was a 1953 graduate of Green Township High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Junior Furnace Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, the Rev. Plyman “Pete” Bruce, whom she married Sept.19, 1953, and who died Aug. 28, 2006; a daughter, Cheryl Stone and a sister, Donna Bruce.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Rodney Bruce, of Ironton, Jerry Keith and Sharon Fay Bruce, of Ironton, Seth Albert and Anita Gail Bruce, of Ironton; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula Rae and Thomas David Bartee, of Ironton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Revs. Rocky Dearfield and Roger Colegrove officiating. Burial will follow in Buckeye Cemetery.
