The Green Lady Bobcats worked part-time, but they put in a full day’s work.
Green used a little more than a half to build a big lead and coast past the St. Joseph Female Flyers 55-29 Wednesday.
“I thought we played the first two-and-a-half quarters pretty well,” said Green coach Dale Royse.
“They have pretty good size, so we stressed boxing them out and keeping them off the boards.”
Doing most of Green’s board work were Adrianne Blankenship with seven rebounds and Abbey Barrett with six.
Ashlee Runyon scored 15 points and Barrett 14 points to lead the Lady Bobcats’ offense.
“Barrett played pretty well. She shot the ball well and she’d done well playing at the guard spot,” said Royse.
Michelle Staton scored 13 points and Katie Hacker eight to lead the Female Flyers.
Runyon hit a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter as Green took a 12-4 lead.
Green erupted for 20 points in the second quarter and held St. Joseph to six points to build a 32-10 halftime cushion.
