Mary Elizabeth Tackett Cottrill, 82, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at a local health care center.
The Lawrence County native was born Sept. 26, 1926, the daughter of the late William and Cora Haynes Tackett.
She attended Dawson-Bryant Schools. She was employed as a cook for 18 years at the Ironton General Hospital and Gallion Hospital for 11 years in housecleaning. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Sunday school at the Ironton Christian Housing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Edward Jenkins and William Jenkins; two sisters, Dorothy Jenkins and Charlene Davis; and two brothers, Paul Tackett and George Tackett.
She is survived by sister, Isabell Winters, of Coal Grove; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Jenkins, of Coal Grove; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Canfield officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.
