TOLEDO — Donald Frederick Knapp, 73, of Toledo, formerly of Wheelersburg and Huntington, W.Va., died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Liberty Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Toledo.
The Ironton native was born Dec. 27, 1934, the son of the late Everett Lee Knapp and Marcella F. Bloss Knapp Roach.
He was a 1953 graduate of Ironton High School and a former quality control foreman for 26 years at the Dayton Malleable. He also worked at the Surgery Center for 14 years in Huntington, W.Va. He was a member of 10th Street Tabernacle Church where he was the former choir director.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Lee Knapp and a sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Herman Caudill.
He is survived by a nephew, Bob Caudill, of Maryland.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetery with Bob Caudill officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
