McCalvin- Wheeler

George and Cindy McCalvin, of Ironton, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Helen “Sissy” McCalvin to James Daniel Wheeler, son of Darla Wheeler of South Point and the late James A. Wheeler.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ironton High School and is a 2008 graduate of Ohio University Southern, where she obtained an associate’s degree in human services technology and a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She plans to further her education with a degree in deaf studies and social work. She is employed at Mended Reeds.
The groom-elect is a graduate of South Point High School and is attending Ohio University Southern, where he is pursuing an associate’s degree in computer science technology and a bachelor’s degree in technical and applied science. He recently received his A+ certification and is employed with Coca Cola Bottling and Frito Lay Company.
The wedding will be Aug. 2 at the Elks in Ironton.
Musical selections will begin at 4 p.m. with the ceremony to follow at 4:30 p.m.
A reception will follow the ceremony. The ceremony and reception are open to family and friends.
The couple will reside in Ironton.
