Seven Symmes Valley Lady Vikings basketball players attended the sold out Tennessee Lady Vol Elite Positioning Camp on June 20-22.
More than 325 players from across the country attended to work on their skills as point guards, wing guards and post players.
“This is the second year I have taken my players to this camp at Tennessee and just like the first one, this was well worth the trip,” said Lady Vikings coach Lisa Bryant.
“I was impressed with the defensive and offensive instruction as well as the conditioning part of this camp. I am so proud of my girls for working hard at this camp as well as learning some responsibility while they were there.”
Work included conditioning stations, guard stations, post stations and games played in the evening. Players toured the Lady Vols locker rooms, weight rooms, watched highlight reels in Thompson Boling Arena and got to participate in autograph sessions.
UT coach Pat Summitt and her current players gave defensive lectures and lead fast break drills used by the Lady Vols.
“Hopefully our players, Jennie, Haily, Chelsea, Erica, Ada, Jessie and Kayla will take home with them what they learned at this camp and put it to good use this basketball season. After all, why not learn fromm the best college women’s basketball coach in the nation. She already has eight national championships.”
