PROCTORVILLE — It began as a football game. It turned into a track meet.

Derrick Robertson hit Kenny Munch with a 47-yard touchdown pass with only 12 seconds to play that lifted the Tolsia (W.Va.) Rebels to outscore the Fairland Dragons 35-28 Friday.

“We did well on offense. We just didn’t make any plays on defense,” said Fairland coach Brent Wilxcoxon.

Fairland (1-3) racked up 427 yards of offense including 361 through the air as quarterback Cole Hatfield was 16 of 24.

Tolsia (2-2) had 390 yards of offense with 232 yards coming on the ground and 158 pass.

“It became a game of ‘they score, we score.’ They couldn’t stop us and we couldn’t stop them. They just had the ball last,” said Wilcoxon.

Tolsia went up 7-0 in the first quarter on a 15-yard scoring pass from Robertson to Tyler Parsons.

But Fairland quarterback Cole Hatfield and Matt Bloomfield hooked up on a 65-yard pass to tie the game.

The Dragons took a 14-7 lead on a 19-yard scoring pass to Michael Lamb, but a 54-yard scoring strike to Muncy tied the game for Tolsia.

The Rebels took the lead with a 17-yard run by Eric Parsley and it was 21-14.

Hatfield’s 1-yard run in the third quarter tied the game again, but Tolsia took the lead early in the fourth quarter ona

2-yard run by Travis Stamper.

Lamb and Hatfield teamed up on a 77-yard catch-and-run that tied the game with just over a minute to play. But Tolsia took advantage of the time to score the winning touchdown.
