Rucker given All-OAC honorable mention

The Ohio Athletic Conference league office announced its 2006 men’s basketball academic awards Wednesday and Marietta College’s Matt Rucker, from the Proctorville/Chesapeake area, was given an Academic All-OAC honorable mention.

Rucker is a junior petroleum engineering major. The center finished the year averaging 8.7 points. He also wrapped up the regular season ranked 12th in rebounding at 5.0, 8th in field goal percentage at .550, and 3rd in blocks, with 1.2, among OAC players.

To be eligible for the Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA, be a star or key reserve, and be in at least his or her second year of participation in the sport.

Wright State students on spring dean’s list

The following students at Wright State University earned dean’s list honors during the spring 2006 quarter, based on their grade point averages:

Jeremy N. Fuhr and Joshua A. Fuhr from Pedro; Thomas B. Pemberton from South Point; and Emily C. Roush from Franklin Furance.
