You have friends at The Ironton Tribune, and we would like to enlist your help in reporting the news that affects you and your neighbors.
If you have any leads, story ideas, letters to the editor, or contributions about Lawrence County, its schools, its residents, etc. we would like you to contact us first.
We truly wish to provide you with the best source for news, advertising and other information about our community, and you play an important role in helping us accomplish just that.
We have more stories affecting you as a Lawrence County citizen than any other newspaper in the area on any given day of the week.
You will see that bigger isn’t always better, but dynamite comes in small packages. We are committed to Lawrence County more than our competitors, and we’ve continued that commitment and tradition for more than 150 years.
We contribute more than $1 million each year to our local economy, along with employee and company support of programs such as the United Way.
In addition, most of our employees are Lawrence County residents. Our children go to school here, we shop here; we have close ties to this community. And just like you, we want to see money spent by Lawrence Countians stay in Lawrence County.
The Ironton Tribune has been named Ohio’s best small community newspaper by The Associated Press Society of Ohio. In addition we were recipients of 19 additional Associated Press awards this year, proving our ability to provide the news you look forward to and deserve. We also have a veteran, hall of fame sports editor on staff. From local high school sports to college and pro, Jim Walker has it covered.
We believe that if you compare our product with that of any local competitor’s newspaper, you also will see that we are a better value for the money. We offer our six-day a week subscription, including Sunday, for only $10.95 a month, and if you are 55 or older, you qualify for our senior rate of only $9.85 per month.
That averages out to only $0.42 an issue, cheaper than any other news source including cable television or the Internet. In addition, you can count on Smart Source coupons in most Sunday editions. The money that you save by using these coupons can more than pay for the cost of a subscription. So if you’d like information about subscribing please contact me at the phone number or e-mail address below.
Finally, to those residents in eastern Lawrence County, we are your newspaper. We provide more coverage of news and sports in your area as well. But we need your help to keep doing this. Please make us your first contact when reporting news in your area.
Help us keep Lawrence County informed on a daily basis. We encourage you to support your local newspaper in any way that you can.
If you have any news tips or comments, please call managing editor Don Willis at (740) 532-1445, ext. 12 or news editor Justin McElroy at (740) 532-1445, ext. 14.
Thank you.
