SOUTH POINT — You might try to walk a mile in Hannah Huron’s shoes, but you won’t walk to first base.
Huron was on target again with no walks as she pitched the South Point Lady Pointers to a 7-2 win over the Chesapeake Lady Panthers Wednesday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Huron struck out five as she pitched a five-hitter. She has allowed only two walks all season.
The Lady Pointers had 10 hits as Ericka Leighty went 3-4 and Jessi Craft and Ashlee Kleinman 2-3. Lauren Moore delivered a key two-run single to seal the win.
“I’m really proud of how the three freshmen have stepped up when we needed them,” Lady Pointers coach Marty Patrick said.
“Our three seniors stepped up tonight to get hits when we needed them.”
Shelby Pike was 2-3 with a triple and Bria Ratcliff 2-3 to lead Chesapeake.
