Grand jury indicts alleged drug peddlers, others

Five people arrested last week in a drug raid at a South Point motel and a man accused of robbing an Ironton Speedway were among those indicted this week by a Lawrence County grand jury, according to information from the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office.
Benjamin Roberts, 27, of 279 Township Road 1034, South Point, was indicted on seven counts of trafficking in crack cocaine, aggravated possession of crack cocaine, having weapons under a disability and possession of criminal tools.
Donna Croson, 40, who told authorities she was homeless, Adam C. Bailey, 18, who also said he was homeless, Tim A Sexton, 30, of Huntington, W.Va.,
and Justin Anderson, 20, of 551 Township Road 1013, South Point were each indicted on one count of complicity to trafficking in crack cocaine.
All five people were arrested during a drug raid Dec. 14 at the Comfort Inn.
Also this week, the grand jury returned an indictment against Carl E. Davis, 43, of 729 Depot St., Ironton.
He is accused of going into the Speedway at Eighth Street and Park Avenue Nov. 7 with a gun and leaving with an undetermined amount of cash. Davis
was arrested a short time later.

4Walter Plumley, 28, 274 Township Road 1026, South Point, one count each of forgery and theft.
4Jennifer Bias, 35, 32 Township Road 286, Chesapeake, two counts of theft and nine counts of forgery.
4Patricia Kane, 51, 89 Township Road 1063, South Point, felonious assault.
4Dwayne Anderson, 35, West Portsmouth, possession of crack cocaine.
4Edward Leon Harvey, 41, Huntington, W.Va., possession of crack cocaine.
4Wesley Sparks, 41, 613 Township Road 199, Pedro, domestic violence.
4Calvin Carter, 48, 2540 South Fifth St., Ironton, felonious assault.
4Ryan Carmon, 25, 780 High St., Coal Grove, illegally processing drug documents.
4Dwayne McDonald, 21, 22 Township Road 1042, Chesapeake, one count each of burglary and theft.
4Donnie Delong, 30, whose last known address was 1802 Ora Richey Road, Ironton, failure to notify authorities of his address change.
4David Chaffins, 23, Greenup, Ky., receiving stolen property.
4Tara Nelson, 32, of Russell, Ky., receiving stolen property.
There was one secret indictment on a drug-related charge. The grand jury also chose not to return an indictment in another case.
