Fantabulous Tans, located in Westview Plaza, is owned by Shari and John Chapman. The business has been opened for two weeks and offers an array of tanning beds and lotions from which to choose. Owner Shari Chapman said she chose to open the business in South Point for several different reasons.

&#8220So I could have my own business and offer something to the community,” she said. &#8220I always wanted to open my own salon.”

Her husband, John, constructed the inside of the store, making it look like and island oasis - complete with palm tree lights.

In addition to working on a tan, customers can do a little leisurely shopping; the business also carries a selection of sunglasses, purses and other merchandise.

Chapman also offers temporary air brushed tattoos. She said the tattoos can last up to a week depending on how the recipient takes care of them. She is also in the process of getting paint that can last up to 14 days. The tattoos can be removed with alcohol.

Customers can also incorporate a crystal into their new tattoo. Tattoos range from $4.95 to $22.95, rhinestones are extra. Buy five tattoos, an you get one free.

&#8220They are cute, I like them,” she said.

Tanning beds range from 10 to 15-minute beds, a stand-up bed and 20-minute beds. Chapman also has lotion for every level of tanning such as an accelerator for someone who is just starting to tan. She also carries after tan moisturizer.

&#8220We have a little bit of everything for everybody,” she said.

Fantabulous Tans offers gift certificates-in time for the holidays. Unlimited monthly tans in the 20-minute beds are $29.99, $39.99 in the 10-15 minute beds. Walk-ins are welcome.
