Computer ratings show new look

A new week and a new look.
This week's Ohio High School Athletic Association computer ratings have a lot of new places and new faces among the local schools.
First of all, the Ironton Fighting Tigers (5-1) remained No. 2 in Region 15 of Division IV behind Bellaire. Ironton has a 12.8000 average while Bellaire is at 15.3086.
However, the Rock Hill Redmen (5-1) broke into the top 10 as they moved up to No. 7 with a 7.9666 average.
Portsmouth West is fourth this week and hosts Ironton in a key computer points games.
In Region 19 of Division V, the Wheelersburg Pirates (4-2) drop from third to fifth with an 8.6666 average.
The Coal Grove Hornets (5-1) are not in the top 10, but they are knocking at the door in 11th place with a 6.5653 average.
In Division IV, the Symmes Valley Vikings (4-2) moved up two places in Region 23 after a win over Green.
The Vikings are now fourth in the region with a 5.5667 average. They face a crucial game this week not only for computer points but toward winning the Southern Ohio Conference as they host Lucasville Valley.
The Indians (5-1) are third in Region 19 of Division V, two spots ahead of Wheelersburg despite losing 27-0 to the Pirates two weeks ago.
The top eight teams in each region of the six divisions qualify for the postseason playoffs. Final ratings and playoff pairings will be released on Sunday, Oct. 30.
