Ironton climbs to No.2 in computer ratings

Here they come again.
The Ironton Fighting Tigers win over arch-rival Ashland (Ky.) last week helped vault them to second place in this week's Ohio High School Athletic Association computer football playoff ratings.
Bellaire (5-0) continues to lead Region 15 of Division IV with a 12.4350 average. Ironton (4-1) has a 10.1000 average.

The rest of the top eight has Heath third at 8.950 followed by Piketon 84.830, Portsmouth West 7.2500, Meadowbrook 7.1000, Bishop Hartley 6.0750 and New Lexington 6.000.
The top eight teams in each region of the six divisions qualify for the postseason playoffs.
Rock Hill (4-1) is sitting at 12th (5.1000). South Point dropped from 10th to 17th (4.2130) after its loss to Northwest.
In Region 19 of Division V, the Coal Grove Hornets inched up to No. 11 with a 5.2210 average. Chesapeake is 18th with a 3.2150 average.
Wheelersburg is sitting in third place with a 7.6000 average. Bishop Ready leads the region followed by East Knox.
The Symmes Valley Vikings (3-2) cracked the top eight ratings sheet at No. 6 with a 4.300 average.

The Green Bobcats (3-2) are 14th with a 2.8000 average. Green and Symmes Valley meet Friday in a key Southern Ohio Conference game and a showdown.
