This time of year many
residents are harvesting their crops.
Local and state law enforcement spent this week in the field, too, only their bumper crop was neither vegetable nor fruit.
Lawrence County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jeff Lawless said 105 marijuana plants were confiscated this week in the county.
The pot eradication work was a combined effort by the sheriff's office, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Ohio Division of Wildlife and the U.S. Forestry Service.
Lawless said no arrests have yet been made in connection with the pot find but the investigation continues into the plants that were found on private property.
"This was pretty good for us (the amount). We got a late start this year and we had problems getting the helicopter," Lawless said. "But we want people to know we are in a constant battle with drugs. It's a never-ending fight but we are willing to fight the battle."
