Matt Smith pitched a four-hitter as Indian Valley remained unbeaten in the State Junior League Tournament with a 3-2 win over Ashtabula Saturday in a winner's bracket game.

Jason Stephen went 2-for-2 to lead Indian Valley at the plate.

Andrew Dedominic and Nick Traikoff hit solo home runs to account Ashtabula's scoring.

In the loser's bracket, Boardman banged out 14 hits and whipped New Miami 16-0 while Elyria East held off Athens 8-5.

Dan Eich, Pat McFall and Kyle Jones all went 3-for-5 for Boardman. Pat Durkin was 2-3 and Joe Carothers 2-4. Kyle Jones and Durkin limited New Miami to two hits.

Nick Toney had three doubles and Andrew Kubuski was 2-4 for Elyria East. Grant Smith was 4-4 to pace Athens.

Sunday's schedule begins with Boardman against Bucyrus at noon followed by Elyria East against Ashtabula at 2:30 p.m. in the loser's bracket. Fairland faces Eaton at 5 p.m. and Indian Valley and Maumee at 7:30 p.m. in the winner's bracket.
