UNION TOWNSHIP -RiverWalk, the area's first planned community, may be in its beginning stages, but many people are looking forward to the massive project's completion.
The development will turn 120 acres into a multi-use planned community including a marina, luxury condos, a hotel and convention center, a retirement community, medical and professional facilities, industrial and shopping opportunities, all around a community theme.
The site, located between Indian Guyan Creek and the 31st Street Bridge, is owned by Dale and Carolyn Manns, who also own Superior Marine, Inc., and are planning to operate the marina, the focal point of the development.
"We want everyone involved," Carolyn Manns said. "With what it has to offer, everyone can enjoy it."
The doctor's offices located behind Three Gables are almost ready to be occupied, and developers are waiting on permits to begin the early construction phases.
"We've already had a huge response with people being placed on the list for condos," Manns said.
To be placed on the list, call (740) 894-3446.
Developer Michael Manns said that they would also like to involve the neighboring communities.
Plan include a water-taxi system, a system where communities can utilize the Ohio River.
The development is still in the permit stages, but Michael Manns said they will hopefully break ground on the buildings some time next year.
