It's another step in the long process of obtaining school construction monies.
Ironton City Schools officials are advertising for architects interested in designing new or revamped school facilities.
"It's important to get an architect on board now as the (Ohio School) facilities commission is preparing their proposals now for our buildings," Ironton City Schools Superintendent Dean Nance said. "The board and I would like assistance in evaluating the state's figures."
Nance said
board members will begin narrowing down the field of interested parties the first of next month.
"Traditionally, I think this area probably gets eight to 10 responses," Nance said.
"We hope to have an architect in place by mid-April, about the time the state may call and tell us if we're on the list," Nance said.
