SOUTH POINT - Friday night's lottery winner was Chris Brown.

It was Brown's turn to pick up the scoring and he responded not only with 12 points, but a 3-pointer with three seconds to play that lifted the South Point Pointers to a 61-58 win over the River Valley Raiders in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Jeremiah Taylor had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead a balanced South Point offense. Chase McWhorter had 11 points and eight rebounds, J.T. Terry added 9 points and Ryan Hong handed out five assists.

"We're getting more people involved. The scoring is more balanced than early in the season and that's helped," Pointers coach Gary Norris said.

South Point took a 15-9 lead in the first quarter and led 26-16 at the break.

River Valley caught fire and scored 21 points in the third quarter to get within 43-37. Taylor scored 7 points to keep the Pointers in front.

The Raiders continued their second half scoring with 21 more points in the fourth quarter to tie the game, but Brown hit his game-winning shot as the Pointers improved to 7-11 overall and 5-4 in the OVC.

"We have a little momentum. Hopefully, it'll continue because we have a tough one Tuesday," Norris said.

The Pointers host Northwest Tuesday.
