PIKETON - "You hurt me then, you're back again,

No, no, not a second time."

With apologies to the Beatles and their song, "Not A Second Time," the St. Joseph Flyers were looking to switch to another tune after losing to the Piketon Red Streaks Tuesday.

The Flyers had just 16 rebounds as they were beaten on the glass by the Red Streaks.

"We didn't play well and we didn't rebound well at all. The second chance points killed us," Flyers coach Kevin Hacker said. "Putbacks hurt us."

Eric Farmer had 10 putback baskets as he scored 26 points to lead Piketon, now 11-2. Kyle Miller added 20 points and Eli Portcher 10.

Michael Basedow scored 21 points and Corey Lewis 12 to pace the Flyers, 3-10. Ryan Staton grabbed six rebounds.

Four different players had 4 points each as Piketon took an 18-12 lead in the first quarter. Basedow had 6 points to keep the Flyers close.

Basedow scored 10 points in the second quarter but Farmer got 12 points as the Red Streaks opened up a 44-28 halftime lead.

Miller had 6 points for Piketon and Clay Crum 6 points for the Flyers in the third quarter as the score went to 61-38.

Farmer got 7 more points in the fourth quarter to offset four points each by Lewis and Staton.
