Week one didn't leave much to see. Week two will leave quite a picture.
Chesapeake, Coal Grove and South Point all won during the first week of Ohio Valley Conference play last week. But those wins won't mean as much if they lose this week.
For example, Chesapeake plays at South Point in a game that could give the winner the inside track toward winning the conference.
"Our kids are working hard. We know this will be a tough game. But if you're going to win the league, you have to beat Chesapeake," Pointers coach Dan McDavid said.
Coal Grove can do two things with a win at Fairland. The Hornets can stay unbeaten with a win and remain in first place, plus virtually eliminate Fairland from the league chase.
Rock Hill and River Valley are in a similar position as Fairland. The winner stays in the title hunt while the loser falls to 0-2.
In the Southern Ohio Conference, the Symmes Valley Vikings will put the league title on the line at Lucasville Valley.
Symmes Valley has beaten Lucasville in each of the last two seasons en route to winning the Southern Ohio Conference.
"This is a big game for both of us. It won't lock up the league, but it will be big toward winning the league," Vikings coach Rusty Webb said.
