COAL GROVE - A Kitts Hill man is behind bars, accused with assaulting a Coal Grove woman with a baseball bat Monday night.
Patrick Littlejohn, 18, was charged with felonious assault and taken to the Lawrence County Jail. He was arraigned Tuesday in Ironton Municipal Court. Coal Grove police Sgt. Jason Bloomfield said other charges against Littlejohn are pending.
The victim was taken to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. where she is listed in fair condition.
Bloomfield said it appears the two were arguing about the woman's teenage daughter.
The incident took place in a vacant lot on Pike Street just after 9:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, Ironton police detective Jim Akers said the investigation continues into an incident last week in which an Ironton man was assaulted, reportedly by as many as seven other people.
The victim sustained three lacerations on his head and face and was treated and released from Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.
The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the vicinity of Eighth and Quincy streets.
Akers said anyone with information should call the detective bureau at 532-5606.
