Anonymous caller, they need your help.
On the evening of May 19, a caller telephoned the Ironton Police Department and said he had just witnessed a couple of people stealing a gasoline can from a Small Stuff, Inc., delivery van at Jo-Lin Health Center.
The man followed the culprits for a while and gave additional information to authorities. But he never gave his name or contact information.
Ironton police detective Jim Akers said he would like to talk to the helpful caller. The crime the man witnessed was not the theft of gasoline, but actually the theft of narcotics that were being transported in a red container inside the van. Akers said he would like whatever information the man can give them about the incident.
"He can stay anonymous although we would like to know who he is," Akers said. "But we definitely need to talk to him."
Information on the amounts or value of the drugs taken was not immediately available. Akers said the variety of drugs taken included Lorzipam, morphine and oxycodone.
The caller may contact Akers at 532-5606 or 532-2338 and leave a message.
