HAVERHILL - The St. Joseph Flyers are getting closer.

The youthful Flyers suffered another loss, but they didn't go down without a fight as they fell 8-7 to the South Gallia Rebels Monday.

"We had our chances. This is one we let slip away," Flyers coach Greg Bryant said. "But we're getting better. We've played two straight games that we could easily have won."

the inning to tie the game when Jeremy Addis walked and Cory Lewis doubled.

The Rebels erupted for four runs in the fourth inning to lead 5-1 and pushed across three more runs in the fifth inning.

But the Flyers began their comeback with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

St. Joseph closed to within a run with four in the sixth inning.

Alex Swarts and Joe O'Leary walked, Aaron Whaley was hit by a pitch and then Schwab, Ryan Waginger, Addis

and Lewis all walked.
