Lady Dragons blank Gallipolis 8-0 in non-league matchup

GALLIPOLIS - The Fairland Lady Dragons won one road game. Now, they want a second.
Fairland blanked the Gallipolis Blue Angels 8-0 Thursday in a non-league game. The Lady Dragons now go to Rock Hill Friday for a key Ohio Valley Conference game.
Megan Auxier went five innings to get the win for Fairland (11-5). Megan Fisher was 3-4 to lead the offense.
Fairland took a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
Fisher singled, stole second and third and scored on a hit by Kristen Clausing.
In the second inning, Fisher singled and then stole second, third and home.
The lead went to 6-0 in the fifth inning.
Fisher singled, stole second and went to third on a passed ball and Brittany Brunty walked. Clausing then had a long two-run single.
The final two runs scored in the sixth.
Kate Nida and Ashley Ward reached on errors with Nida scoring. Clark walked and Fisher singled to load the bases. Brittany Brunty then walked to force home a run.
