Clyse helps Female Flyers win finale

Austin Clyse's final home game turned out to be her best.
Clyse scored a career-high 13 points as the St. Joseph Female Flyers beat the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans 52-38 Wednesday.
"Austin had a great game. She always plays good defense, so it was nice to see her put together a good all-around game," Female Flyers coach Paul Webb said. "Austin and Kathryn Laber have given us good senior leadership all year. It's nice to see them play well in their last home game."

Raven Blake led St. Joseph with 16 points and Christina Harvey scored 14.
Heather Chatfield led Notre Dame with 15 points and Maggie Cardosi added 11.
Blake had six points while Clyse, Laber and Harvey got two each to give St. Joseph a 12-10 lead in the first quarter. Cardosi and Chatfield combined for all of Notre Dame's points.
Blake got eight more points in the second quarter and the defense limited the Lady Titans to just two points and it was 28-12 at the half.
Chatfield scored nine points in the third quarter as Notre Dame cut the deficit to 38-27.
Notre Dame put the Female Flyers at the foul line in the fourth quarter, and they responded by converting 6 of 13. Lindsay Dressel scored five points as St. Joseph maintained its lead.
