COLUMBUS - Charles Bass, who banked in a free throw to upset Michigan State in last year's Big Ten tournament semifinals, has notified Ohio State coach Jim O'Brien he intends to transfer.
The 6-foot-9 sophomore center/forward from University Park, Ill., said he does not know where he will transfer.
''I had a good time here,'' Bass said Tuesday in a statement. ''Things just didn't work out as I had planned. I've just decided to pursue an opportunity at another university.''

Bass seldom played for the Buckeyes, who had a 17-15 record last year, but is remembered for stepping to the foul line with 6 seconds left and the score tied against Michigan State last March. Bass had not shot a free throw all season.
His first attempt banked in, providing Ohio State with a stunning 55-54 victory.
''C. Bass, off glass,'' were the first words uttered by O'Brien in his postgame news conference.
O'Brien said in a statement that Bass said he was transferring because of a lack of playing time.
''We wish Charles nothing but happiness wherever he decides to go,'' O'Brien said.
Bass played in 15 games last season, scoring nine points. He had played in two games this season without scoring.
