Two hurt in shooting in Hamilton

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP- One man is behind bars and two other people were left injured after a shooting Monday evening in Hamilton Township.
Daniel J. Blankenship, 59,
of 1398 Old U.S. 52, Ironton, has been charged with two counts of felonious assault. He is lodged in the Lawrence County Jail.
Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton said deputies were summoned to a residence on Old U.S. 52 just after 8 p.m. and found one man and one woman had been shot and had been taken to an Ashland area hospital. The names and conditions of the victims are not being released at this time, Sexton said.
Authorities believe the shootings were the result of an altercation between the two men. A weapon that was believed
to have been used in the incident was recovered at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
