Co-Op club invites public to #039;Meet the Candidates#039;

Ironton voters will have the opportunity to "Meet the Candidates" at 7 p.m. tonight at Ohio University Southern.
The forum, hosted in the Bowman Auditorium, will provide the community a chance to meet with Ironton candidates for mayor, city council and the school board. Each candidate will have a few minutes to introduce themselves and explain their views and political platform.
The audience will have a chance to submit written questions for the candidates. Bob Smith, assistant dean for development at OUS and former WSAZ-TV anchor, will moderate the forum.
The candidates for the Ironton City Schools Board of Education and Ironton City Council will begin at 7 p.m. Ironton Board of Education candidates for three vacant seats are James E. Colegrove, Tim Johnson, Kathy Kratzenberg, Paul Kuehne and incumbents Gary L. Neal and Robert Pleasant Jr.
Three city council seats with four-year terms are up for election. Incumbents Jesse Roberts and Richard Price are seeking reelection and will face former city health commissioner Charlie Kouns and Briggs-Lawrence County Public Library branch manager Chuck O'Leary
The Ironton mayoral candidates current Mayor Bob Cleary and Ironton Councilman John Elam will begin their introductions at 8:30 p.m.
