A Proctorville man was arrested Monday and charged with rape after an investigation by Lawrence County Children's Services and the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.

Joseph Chapman, 19, of 106 Grant St., allegedly had unlawful sexual contact with a female juvenile at a residence in Union Township, according to information from the sheriff's office.

He was taken to the Lawrence County Jail and is expected to be arraigned Friday in Lawrence County Municipal Court.
