FAIRBORN, Ohio -- Ohio State power forward Zach Williams said Wednesday he will transfer to Wright State to play for a former Ohio State assistant coach.
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Williams will join Paul Biancardi, who left Ohio State to become head coach at Wright State in April. Williams, a three-year starter as a Buckeye, will have to sit out a year before he can play his final season.
''Having spent the last three years with him, I felt for my last go-around, it just made sense to be with somebody I trusted,'' Williams said of Biancardi. ''He knows what he's going to get. And I know with him, what you see is what you get.''
The Brooklyn, N.Y., native started in all but 10 of his 94 appearances at Ohio State, averaging 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Williams said in May that he would leave Ohio State. He had been suspended after a blowup with the coaching staff during the Big Ten tournament in March.
