BEREA -- Browns coach Butch Davis has remained true to his word about having an open competition at quarterback.
He listed both Tim Couch and Kelly Holcomb as the starting quarterback on a depth chart released Tuesday for Cleveland's first preseason game.
''Anybody, media or players, that would make anything out of a depth chart before the first preseason game would be grossly overstated,'' Davis said.

He said he knows which quarterback will start in Saturday's preseason game at Tennessee and will make an announcement later this week.
He has said he will name a starting quarterback for the Sept. 7 season opener by the third preseason game on Aug. 23.
According to the preseason depth chart, Cleveland's offensive line will have a couple of new starters -- rookie Jeff Faine at center and Melvin Fowler at left guard. Barry Stokes, who started at guard last season, is listed as backup right tackle.
The starting linebackers are Kevin Bentley, Barry Gardner and Ben Taylor. Michael Jameson is starting at strong safety while Robert Griffith is out with a broken finger.
There appears to be a three-way competition for the two cornerback positions among Daylon McCutcheon, Anthony Henry and Lewis Sanders, who are all listed as starters.
