IPD investigates DUI case involving unconscious youth

One person is behind bars and one person is hospitalized following an incident in Ironton Wednesday night.
Ironton Police Capt. Chris Bowman said the department received a call of alerting to them of possible trouble between a man and a woman in a car in the 2600 block of South Third Street. Before officers arrived on the scene, the caller contacted police again to advise that the car headed down South Third Street.
Police located the car and arrested the driver, Steven M. Cox, 26, of Raceland, Ky., on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under a suspended license.
A female juvenile passenger, also believed to be from Kentucky, was found unconscious in the car and was taken to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, where she was admitted.
