Weather causes change in tourney sked

Ol' Man Winter must not be a basketball fan.
A combination of snow and ice has
forced a change in the sectional tournament scheduled.
Monday's boys Division III games at the University of Rio Grande were postponed and are tentatively scheduled to be played Tuesday at South Webster High School.
However, South Webster did not have any electricity on Monday and those games could be postponed again or moved to a different site.
South Point is scheduled to play Wellston at 6:45 p.m. followed by Fairland and Oak Hill.
Other games scheduled Monday were postponed including the girls tournaments.
The Rock Hill Redwomen in Division II and Symmes Valley Lady Vikings in Division IV were postponed for the second time. The teams were originally scheduled
to play their sectional finals last Saturday but were rescheduled for Monday.
Monday's games were postponed and tournament officials met Tuesday morning. Those games are tentatively scheduled to be played Tuesday night.
Besides travel problems, the Southeast District Board is facing another problem with the loss of electricity at most of the schools which limits the availability of sites.
Ironton High School is a possible venue if the board would consider the site.
Not only does Ironton have electricity and heat, the Sports Center has more seating than the University of Rio Grande and four locker rooms.
