Two enter guilty pleas, sentenced last week

A Chesapeake man will serve 32 months in prison after pleading guilty last week to sexual crimes involving a girl under 15 years old.
John L. Triplett, 51, of 7900 Lick Creek Road, pleaded guilty last week in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to unlawful sexual conduct and gross sexual imposition, both third degree felonies.
Judge Frank McCown sentenced Triplett to 16 months in prison on each of the two counts.
The two incidents occurred at his home between July 1- and Oct. 13.
An Ironton man will serve one year in prison after pleading guilty last week to attempt to commit felonious assault, a third-degree felony.
John Young, 19, of 204 Chestnut St., was accused of assaulting
Clarence Abrams, of Pedro, while both were incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail. The incident happened Nov. 4.
Young was originally charged with felonious assault, but the charge was amended. Young entered his plea before Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton.
