Man accused of smuggling drugs into Lawrence County Jail indicted

A Chesapeake man accused of smuggling drugs into the Lawrence County jail was among 11 people indicted this week by a Lawrence County Grand Jury.

Brian K. Booth, 25, of 3244 McKinney Creek Road, was indicted on one count of conveyance of drugs of abuse onto grounds of a government facility.

He was arrested Sept. 23 at the Lawrence County Jail when he allegedly tried to pass pills to his wife, Stephanie Booth, who was an inmate. Stephanie Booth was in jail awaiting transfer to prison after being convicted last month on drug charges.
